Review of the Crucifixion

Father Anton (Corneliu Ulici) is jailed for murdering a nun, however he says, he just wanted to save her, with performing exorcism on the woman. Nicole Rawlins (Sophie Cookson), a young journalist, immediately jumps at the story and travels there, to investigate the case. After the first encounter with the priest, Nicole is having nightmares and strange things start to happen, which she can't explain. She starts having doubts and wondering, what if Father Anton was really battling with a demon during the exorcism. A demon, which is still there. The journalist realizes, that this case is more than just a story and maybe her own life is also in danger.

To be honest, I always have doubts about horrors about exorcism. Usually they have the same patterns, twists and jumpscares. What I liked in The Crucifixion, that the story was not about the exorcism itself, but that what happened after it. However even that this is a good point for the film, I can not say, there are many other things, I liked in it. The plot was quite predictable and the character of Nicole also was stereotypical, not talking about the overused jumpscares. If you like exorcism horror, it is enjoyable to watch once, but don't wait too much from the movie.
