Katharine McGee brings us to the future in The Thousandth Floor, where people live in thousand floor towers. And one night a young woman falls from the top of the Tower in Manhattan... We get know the life in the Tower through the eyes of Avery, Leda, Eris, Rylin and Watt. Avery is the  girl, who's life is perfect, but she is still not happy. She is very rich and lives on the thousandth floor of the Tower with her family, she is beautiful and smart (she was genetically engineered by her parents to be perfect), but she loves someone, who she can never have. Leda, who is Avery's best friend, and lives on floor 962. She is secretly in love with Avery's brother, Atlas, but not this is her only secret. She was on rehab during summer, because of her drug addiction. None of her friends know about this. The secrets make the relationship between Leda and Avery tense, and the distance just grows between them, even that Avery tries to save their friendship. Eris is another best friend from Avery, from floor 985. She is a carefree and slightly spoiled girl, who loves to party. Her life just breaks to pieces, when a family secret turns out, which leads to another, to make things more complicated. Eris tries to hide everything from her friends, but she also knows, she can not hide the truth forever. Rylin is from floor 32, and her life is anything, but not luxurious. She lives with her younger sister and they have always money problems. When Rylin gets an offer from Cord, who lives on 969th floor, to be his maid, it is a great opportunity for her, which she immediately accepts. But soon it becomes not just a well-paying job, when she sees the real Cord and starts having feelings for him. She knows that such a romance has no chance, mostly after things get a little problematic.  And there is Watt, a hacker from floor 294. With the help of his secret and illegal weapon, he easily gets any information. Leda hires him to get any information about Atlas. After he sees Avery, he uses his secret weapon to win her heart and of course tells nothing to the girl about his business relationship with Leda. So many lies and secrets, but who will be the woman, who falls from the top and why?

I really like the start of the story. After reading it, I was constantly wondering and guessing that who and why will die, every time a new character appeared, or something happened. As we got closer to the end of the book, the tension grew and it was very interesting to see, how things lead to the end. The characters were also good, I liked that every chapter is from the viewpoint of someone else, and like this you see a little more how they see the others. Everyone adds to the story and shows it, how they see things.

Shortly, it was a really good book, the story and characters both interesting and you just can not stop reading, you want more after every chapter. I can definitely recommend it, and I wait the continuation of the story curiously.
